Introduction
Enhancers use their expertise to review and improve text that has been machine translated by the Exfluency™ system.
This article leads you through the enhancement process, from reviewing your workload in the dashboard to completing a project in the Editor.
Accepting a project
In the Enhancer Dashboard > My Enhancement Projects, you can see projects that are in progress, projects that are pending your acceptance, and projects that you have completed.
Actions
To review the details of a project, hover over the i icon. You can also click the eye icon to preview a project before accepting it. To accept the project, click the green accept button. To reject it, click the red reject button.
If a project consists of more than one document, click the fold-down button to view all files in the project, including how many assets each document consists of.
If you decide to accept the project, the text will open in the Editor, ready for your enhancement.
Navigation Panel in the Editor
The text in the Editor is machine translated. If the Requester has opted for Redaction and the Anonymization stage, the text will be anonymized. Furthermore, if it is a .PDF file, it has been OCRed beforehand.
If the project consists of more than one document, you will see each document as a separate tab at the top of the Editor - see below.
The Navigation Panel is above the text and has the following:
- the search button: the Enhancer can type a word or phrase, and it will be found in the document.
- the terminology panel.
- Comments: the Enhancer can view any comments added by the Requester.
-
Help
, which contains a lot of useful information.
-
Finish assignment button: when Enhancers complete a project,
they click the button.
Enhancing assets
The Enhancer’s job is to review all the text in the document, paying particular attention to sentences and paragraphs (linguistic assets) that have been machine translated.
You can view the source text for the currently edited asset using CTRL + mouse click (or CTRL + S).
To correct an asset, place the cursor in the required position and make the correction. You can also double-click a word to select it.
Click Complete when you are done with the asset. The status changes to Enhanced
to indicate and confirm that you have enhanced it.
Continue enhancing the remaining assets in the document. The blue bar at the top of the editor grows from left to right as you work your way through the project.
Recycled assets
An asset showing this message, Are you sure you want to make changes to a recycled asset?, has been validated and recycled by the Exfluency platform. However, these assets may still contain an occasional error; in such a case, your task is to correct it.
To correct an asset, click the Edit button:
The progress bar
The progress bar at the top of the editor shows how far you are in the project. If the project consists of multiple files, two bars will show. The upper bar shows progress for the entire project; the lower bar shows progress within the file.
The progress bar at the bottom of the editor also shows the following useful information:
| Field | Definition |
|---|---|
| Total assets |
The sum of all assets within one project. Ex.: The project has two documents – one has 27 assets, and the other has 50. The Total assets sum is 77. |
| Remaining assets | The number of assets that must be done (the user must click complete) to finish the entire project. |
| Est. time remaining | The time calculated based on your previous performance and the number of assets that need to be done. |
| All assets in file |
The assets that the current project contains. Ex.: The project has two documents – the current one has 27 assets, and the other has 50. The All assets in file sum is 27. |
| Remaining assets in file | The number of assets that must be done (the user must click complete) to finish the current document. |
NOTE: The value is updated whenever the Contributor completes an asset in the current document.
Follow which files you’ve completed in a multifile project with the green checkmark beside the filename.
Things to look out for when enhancing the project
As an Enhancer, it’s crucial that you follow the relevant style guide. If the style guide is not followed, the client may reopen the project for correction. For more details go to Correction stage.
Finally, always keep an eye out for the following:
- Omission
- Value error
- Insertion
- Untranslated
- Word Meaning Lost
- Grammar
- Spelling
- Formatting
- Word Meaning Affected
Read more about the Error Classification Guide.
Finishing the project
When you have confirmed every asset in every tab, the Finish assignment button will activate at the top of the editor. Click the button to confirm that you’ve finished.
The project is now ready to be downloaded by the Requester or passed to a Trust Miner™ for further quality assessment if requested.

Your work time won't be counted if you switch tabs in your browser or minimize the browser window.
